Grunge Raccoon

Grunge Raccoon is an independent game studio developing The 8th Rank: a tactical roguelike game with combo-based combat taking place in the corrupted mythos of chess.

Players fight waves of enemies by queueing up chains of unique abilities. By seeing exactly what your enemies are going to do, players can unleash devastating combos to clear the room.

The initial moves are inspired by the familiar chess pieces, but every run will reveal new rewards and upgrades. Build your deck with over 30 strategic and brutal moves, including fan favorites like shotgun, unicorn leap, and en passant.

The bosses are the corrupted chess pieces themselves, each with a deadly evolved version of their usual routine.
